Anti-seismic surgical block


Anti-seismic modular hospital building designed to be used as an anti-seismic surgical block, consisting of at least one earthquake-proof surgical room and its ancillary technical and operational appurtenances.

The anti-seismic operating block consists of modular prefabricated structures, which can also be made of structural steel or stainless steel.

In case there are operating rooms aseismic on several floors, the stairs are connected to the structure of the modular surgical block and remain accessible during seismic shocks.

The elevators and stretcher lifts, whose load-bearing structures are connected to the structure of the anti-seismic operating block, remain functional and usable during the earthquake.

In the same earthquake-resistant hospital building, on the lower floor or floors, there may be a department emergency room, operationally connected with the anti-seismic surgical block.

A helipad can be created above the anti-seismic surgical center building. 

During seismic tremors the helicopter can take flight and land normally safely. 

The anti-seismic mechanical constraint between the building and the base ensures that, during an earthquake, there is no relative movement between the building and the helicopter during take-off or landing.

During the earthquake, those present in the prefabricated anti-seismic surgical room, including the surgeons and the operands, are not shaken by the earthquake, and the surgical operations can continue safely until their normal completion.

The modular anti-seismic surgical room remains safe and usable during high magnitude earthquakes.

During seismic tremors, the operators continue to operate and the operands know that the surgery is not interrupted and they are not at risk.

The operational programming of prefabricated anti-seismic operating rooms, during and after seismic shocks, does not require changes, except due to the fact that urgent surgical interventions may become necessary due to the earthquake.

The hospital emergency plan can reasonably foresee significant increases in surgical activity, in complete safety, during and immediately after a strong earthquake.
